The Elephant Corridor
Udawalawe National Park, located on the boundary of Sabaragamuwa and Uva Provinces, is one of the world's best places to see wild Asian Elephants. Established in 1972, the park surrounds the scenic Udawalawe Reservoir, providing a water source that attracts herds of elephants year-round.
Unlike other parks where elephants can be elusive, Udawalawe almost guarantees sightings. It is also an important habitat for water birds and Sri Lankan leopards.
